**SUMMARY:**
The purpose of the pharmacy technician is to assist and support the pharmacist in the preparation and dispensing of medications for Northern Nevada HOPES patients.
Northern Nevada HOPES is a Federally Qualified Health Center and Patient Centered Medical Home.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:**
- Pharmacy Technician license in good standing in the State of Nevada required.
- Superior knowledge of Pharmacy Insurance Billing required.
- Proven ability to maintain professional conduct required.
- Able to multitask, detailed oriented, and flexible work schedule as assigned required.
- Able to work autonomously as well as collaboratively with all team members required.
- 3 years of experience as a pharmacy technician preferred.

**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:**
The pharmacy technician serves patients by processing, filling, and dispensing medications under the direct supervision of the pharmacist. They will provide support to patients, the pharmacy team and to the greater multidisciplinary team. Pharmacy technicians ensure that patients receive the support, medications, and resources needed to achieve overall wellness and being.
o Processing, Filling, and Dispensing Medications
o Triage requests and prioritizes them.
o Reads, interprets, and processes providers medication orders and ensures all information is accurate and complete.
o Processes patient insurance and interacts with insurance companies to resolve any prescription claim issues.
o Updates patients demographics, health, and insurance information in pharmacy software. Updates patients financial status to determine sliding scale fee.
o Retrieves medications from shelf, counts medications, and labels containers for patient use.
o Ensures that prescriptions are filled from the appropriate inventory based on patient and program qualifications.
o Identifies patients with 2 identifiers when dispensing prescriptions.
