    JOB SUMMARY

    The Pharmacy Sterile Compounding Regulations and Integrity supports safe, standardized, and survey-ready sterile compounding operations across the NCH health system. The technician performs sterile compounding and related inpatient pharmacy duties while coordinating the administrative controls that sustain compliance with applicable laws, regulations, accreditation requirements, United States Pharmacopeia (USP) standards, organizational policies, and manufacturer instructions for use.

    The role maintains reliable competency and compliance records; supports environmental and equipment documentation; reinforces standardized work; and promptly escalates overdue, failed, missing, or out-of-range items. The technician works under the System Director of Pharmacy's supervision and in close partnership with the Director of Pharmacy and Technician Supervisors on each NCH campus, the infection prevention department, facilities, environmental services, quality, lab, and contracted certification vendors.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Responsible for all sterile hazardous and non-hazardous compounding operations on the two NCH hospital campuses.

    Pharmacy Personnel competency and qualification surveillance. Verify that competency evidence is complete and supported by both documentation and laboratory reports.

    Ensure all glove fingertip sampling records are current.

    Environmental Monitoring, cleaning, and facilities documentation. Reviews monitoring logs for completeness and maintains schedules and records for all regulatory compliance needs.

    Responsible for the coordination and education of non-sterile (USP<795>
    Responsible for quality assurance and survey readiness of the sterile compounding environment of both NCH hospital campuses.

    IV room inventory, supply, and workflow support. Working with technician managers and sterile compounding technicians of each hospital campus to maintain par levels and avoid unnecessary expirations and excess inventory.

    Serve as technician resource and preceptor for new technician hires. Provide timely, factual, and psychologically safe feedback when a process deviation is observed.

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

    Must be a Registered Pharmacy Technician in the State of Florida.

    Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) Certificate required.

    Completion of ASHP certificate in sterile compounding less than 3 months after start date.

    Greater than 1 year of experience in hazardous and non-hazardous sterile compounding.

    Working knowledge of aseptic technique, first-air protection, cleaning and disinfecting of engineering controls, and hazardous drug handling.

    Experience supporting USP / compliance, environmental monitoring, competency testing, audits, and accreditation surveys.

    Reliability, integrity, and attention to details.
