POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of the Pharmacy Manager, follows established policies and procedures to perform a variety of technical and clerical support tasks that are integral to the operation of the pharmacy department. Supports and assists the department in the ethical practice of pharmacy by processing prescription orders, updating records and ensuring delivery to patients in a timely manner. Oversees the work of a team of Pharmacy Technicians; develops work schedules and trains pharmacy support staff.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Board of Pharmacy.
Requires 3 or more years related work experience. Retail Pharmacy and / or QS1 experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Work requires effective interpersonal skills to interact appropriately with hospital staff, patients, families/visitors, physicians, colleagues, and others.
- Ability to speak the English language, read / interpret and follow complicated verbal and written instruction with precision, accuracy and dependability.
- Additional language skills (beyond that of English) appropriate to the patient population served is very helpful.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize essential tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to perform work accurately and pay attention to details, including being able to perform basic mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ratios/proportions).
- Leadership ability to guide, direct, and mentor staff.
- Basic computer proficiency inclusive of ability to access, enter, and interpret computerized data/information.
- Must maintain the required level of competency to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
