Position Overview:
The Pharmacy Technician (Patient Care Coordinator) supports prescription processing by performing intake and data entry functions in a closed-door specialty pharmacy environment. This role focuses on accuracy, coordination, and communication to ensure prescriptions are processed efficiently and safely for patient delivery.

Work Schedule:

  • Shift: Monday – Friday, 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM
  • Training Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (on-site for approximately 2–3 months)

Work Location & Type:

  • Location: Cary, NC 27513
  • Work Type: Onsite during training; Hybrid (2 days onsite, 3 days remote) after training completion

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review referrals to ensure all required information is complete and accurate
  • Create patient profiles by entering detailed patient and provider information into the system
  • Perform initial prescription checks to confirm clinical accuracy for processing
  • Communicate with providers regarding missing information, clarifications, or patient concerns
  • Maintain accurate and concise progress notes for workflow visibility
  • Enter and update provider information, including National Provider Identifier (NPI) data
  • Support workflow efficiency to ensure timely prescription processing
  • Perform high-volume data entry with strong attention to detail
  • Complete additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required
  • Current CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) certification required (active and in good standing)
  • Must be registered with the State Board of Pharmacy
  • Prior experience working in a pharmacy setting required
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy (data entry-focused role)
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members
  • Flexible and adaptable to workflow changes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of pharmacy or healthcare experience

Candidate Must Know Before Applying:

  • This is a data entry-heavy role requiring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • The work environment is a closed-door specialty pharmacy (no direct patient interaction)
  • Onsite training is required for 2–3 months before transitioning to a hybrid schedule
  • Must be able to commit to the 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM shift after training
  • Role requires consistent communication with providers and internal teams
  • High-volume workload with performance expectations tied to accuracy and productivity
  • Must maintain active certification and pharmacy board registration throughout assignment
  • Opportunity to convert to a permanent position based on performance and business needs
