    SUMMARY:

    The Pharmacy Technician will play an important role in delivering medication and pharmaceutical care in communities that are most in need. This includes developing close relationships with patients in communities we serve and assisting the pharmacist/pharmacist manager accurately preparing and delivering prescription medication.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Current Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certificate.
    • Active State Pharmacy Technician license in good standing
    • Minimum of 2 years with retail pharmacy technician related experience, preferred.
    • 340b experience preferred.
    • Bilingual-English/Spanish is required.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Assist pharmacists by obtaining and entering patient information to ensure accuracy in medication dosing.

    2. Conduct patient intake, processing prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.

    3. Address patient questions regarding prescriptions, insurance, and medication assistance programs.

    4. Utilize precise dispensing procedures to guarantee patients receive the correct medication.

    5. Accurately fill, label, and prepare prescriptions in compliance with state and federal regulations.

    6. Maintain adequate medication and supply inventory, adhering to safety protocols during stocking and preparation.

    7. Perform inventory control, ordering, and restocking of medications and supplies

    8. Participate in training and educational programs for new and existing pharmacy employees.

    9. Report unresolved issues to the Pharmacy Manager for prompt resolution.

    10. Participate in physical inventories and support the 340b program's inventory integrity.

    11. Accurately capture prescription and billing data for eligible patients.

    12. Assist with audits, reporting, and documentation to maintain program integrity.

    13. Participate in quality assurance activities and continuous improvement initiatives.

    14. Manage prescription files and cash collections in accordance with policy and procedure.

    15. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.

    16. Assist Pharmacist/Pharmacy Manager with pharmaceutical assistance programs.
