Philadelphia Zoo's PHENND Fellow has a portfolio of work that falls into 3 areas: 1. Continuing the administration and growth of the Zoo's Community Access programs 2. Coordinating and implementing on and off site cultural and community events 3. Increasing accessibility for members of the autistic community and senior citizens. Conduct baseline assessments of inclusion for the communities mentioned. Build partnerships with local organizations, senior centers and advocates to best support this initiative. Determine trainings that will orient and teach staff about the specific needs of the communities they are working with and increase staff awareness on topics such as sensory needs, dementia considerations and other important topics to improve guests' experiences. Community engagement, working independently, project management and public speaking are some of the skills this PHENND Fellow will learn and strengthen. Free Zoo membership included!
