The Major Gifts Officer (MGO) will report to the executive director, and will be responsible for procuring major gifts for both current and future gifts for the foundations department for the Providence Southwest Service Area. This individual will be responsible for special initiatives that contribute to strategic development of the region''s long-term plan and campaign activities. The primary focus of this position is external, as a field officer, involving the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors through current gifts and multi-year pledge commitments.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor''s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Philanthropy, Not For Profit Management, or related field.
  • 3 years experience in a sales or development office with proven results in securing sales or gifts in the $10,000 and above range.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Upon hire: Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE)
  • Experience with an emphasis on major gift cultivation and solicitation.

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate''s placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
