Phlebotomist

A health system is seeking a Phlebotomy Supervisor in the Bronx, NY area to support inpatient and outpatient specimen collection while contributing to day-to-day laboratory operations. This role combines hands-on phlebotomy work with team support in a hospital setting.

About the Opportunity:

• Shift: Day shift

• Schedule: Monday-Friday

• Hours: 8:00 AM-4:00 PM

• Setting: Onsite hospital laborator

Responsibilities:

• Perform venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks as needed

• Support inpatient and outpatient phlebotomy operations

• Monitor daily workflow and assist with productivity needs

• Maintain laboratory inventory and supplies

• Ensure compliance with infection control, quality assurance, and safety standards

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Formal phlebotomy training or certification

• Five or more years of phlebotomy experience

• Previous supervisory or lead experience in a hospital laboratory or phlebotomy department

• Experience performing venipuncture across neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patient populations

• Experience using Laboratory Information Systems

Desired Skills:

• Experience managing both inpatient and outpatient phlebotomy operations

• Experience creating schedules, conducting performance reviews, training staff, and managing workflow
