The Phlebotomist is responsible for collecting venous and capillary blood specimens for laboratory analysis in a manner demonstrating skill and safe technique. The Phlebotomist shall also perform routine urinalysis, rapid kit resting, and therapeutic phlebotomy (optional). Additional tasks will include clerical duties, preventive maintenance, processing specimens and requisitions for assay or dispatch, and maintaining phlebotomy supplies. Perform other duties as requested or assigned. May be expected to work varying hours, holidays, and weekends. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: High School Diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED). Must demonstrate an aptitude for the technical skills required, and successfully complete on-the-job training in a hospital or clinical laboratory. LICENSE / CERTIFICATION / REGISTRATION: EXPERIENCE: Experience preferred but not required.
