JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is part-time 3a-7a, every third weekend/rotating Holidays.

  • Technical/Phlebotomy

  • Perform approved specimen collection procedures, point-of-care testing services and processing.

  • Provide education/information and support to patients and families concerning tests and specimen acquisition.

  • Assist in special projects, evaluations, experiments or research.

  • Customer Service

  • Act as patient advocate and meet patient/family needs.

  • Provide information concerning patients admitted to, referred to/from, transferred to/from, or discharged from home unit.

  • Provide emotional support to patients/families as needed.

  • Utilize a customer focus in completing assignments, communicate in a courteous and conscientious manner.

  • Promptly attend to requests and concerns.

  • Collaboration

  • Work cooperatively with others to achieve goals.

  • Proactively adjust ones style, efforts to complement those of others.

To primarily provide phlebotomy and other lab sample collection in addition to other laboratory support functions in the Clinical Laboratory department of a Medical Center dedicated to the care of infants, children and adolescents.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of Phlebotomy or other relevant Clinical Lab specimen collection experience OR completion of a Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant program
  • Preferred: Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certification
