JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is part-time 3a-7a, every third weekend/rotating Holidays.
Technical/Phlebotomy
Perform approved specimen collection procedures, point-of-care testing services and processing.
Provide education/information and support to patients and families concerning tests and specimen acquisition.
Assist in special projects, evaluations, experiments or research.
Customer Service
Act as patient advocate and meet patient/family needs.
Provide information concerning patients admitted to, referred to/from, transferred to/from, or discharged from home unit.
Provide emotional support to patients/families as needed.
Utilize a customer focus in completing assignments, communicate in a courteous and conscientious manner.
Promptly attend to requests and concerns.
Collaboration
Work cooperatively with others to achieve goals.
Proactively adjust ones style, efforts to complement those of others.
Develop positive working relationships, interact in a respectful, professional manner.
Share knowledge and/or provide support for team members.

Professional Development
Maintain currency in the field through continuing education, conferences, meetings, in-services, networking, literature, and/or seminars.
Attend all mandatory CCHMC training sessions.

May participate in internal/external professional committees, agencies, councils, and/or activities.
Compliance
Understand and comply with applicable policies, guidelines, regulations, and/or accreditation standards.
Document compliance as necessary.
Maintain compliance with CCHMC Core Standards and code of ethics.
May be responsible for ensuring that work areas are organized and present a safe, accessible, effective, and/or efficient environment for employees, patients, and/or families.
To primarily provide phlebotomy and other lab sample collection in addition to other laboratory support functions in the Clinical Laboratory department of a Medical Center dedicated to the care of infants, children and adolescents.
