Hours: M-F 6am-2:30pm, weekend and holiday rotations required.
Locations: This position will work primarily at our main campus, but will cover shifts as needed at our College Hill location, weekend and holiday rotations will also be worked at our College Hill location.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
* Technical/Phlebotomy - Perform approved specimen collection procedures, point-of-care testing services and processing. Provide education/information and support to patients and families concerning tests and specimen acquisition. Assist in special projects, evaluations, experiments or research.
* Customer Service - Act as patient advocate and meet patient/family needs. Provide information concerning patients admitted to, referred to/from, transferred to/from, or discharged from home unit. Provide emotional support to patients/families as needed. Utilize a customer focus in completing assignments, communicate in a courteous and conscientious manner. Promptly attend to requests and concerns.
* Collaboration - Work cooperatively with others to achieve goals. Proactively adjust one's style, efforts to complement those of others. Develop positive working relationships, interact in a respectful, professional manner. Share knowledge and/or provide support for team members. Contribute to and promote a positive and professional work environment/atmosphere.
* Professional Development - Maintain currency in the field through continuing education, conferences, meetings, in-services, networking, literature, and/or seminars. Attend all mandatory CCHMC training sessions. Implement obtained knowledge/skills into one's own work, the department, and/or the organization. Assume responsibility for one's own professional growth and development. May participate in internal/external professional committees, agencies, councils, and/or activities.
* Compliance - Understand and comply with applicable policies, guidelines, regulations, and/or accreditation standards. Document compliance as necessary. May be responsible for ensuring that work areas are organized and present a safe, accessible, effective, and/or efficient environment for employees, patients, and/or families.
To primarily provide phlebotomy and other lab sample collection in addition to other laboratory support functions in the Clinical Laboratory department of a Medical Center dedicated to the care of infants, children and adolescents.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
* High school diploma or equivalent
* 2+ years of Phlebotomy or other relevant Clinical Lab specimen collection experience OR completion of a Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant program
* Preferred: Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certification
