We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist to support laboratory services by collecting and processing patient specimens while ensuring accuracy, patient safety, and adherence to facility protocols. The role involves working with patients across all age groups including infants, pediatrics, adults, and geriatric patients.
Requirements
" Minimum 2 years of Phlebotomy experience
" Certification required ASCP, AMT, or equivalent
" AHA BLS certification required
" Cerner experience required
" Blood Bank experience required
" Experience collecting newborn screening specimens
Key Responsibilities
" Collect blood and other laboratory specimens from patients using proper phlebotomy techniques.
" Perform routine laboratory testing on collected specimens as directed.
" Ensure accurate patient identification, labeling, and documentation.
" Submit and receive specimens and laboratory reports as needed.
" Assist with charting, filing, typing, and other routine clerical duties.
" Maintain laboratory cleanliness and ensure work areas meet safety and infection control standards.
" Monitor laboratory supplies and place orders when necessary.
" Assist with preparing special reports and maintaining laboratory documentation.
" Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to professional and ethical standards.
Compliance & Professional Standards
" Practice within the boundaries of documented education, training, and professional credentials.
" Provide healthcare services consistent with Cherokee Nation policies and procedures.
" Maintain confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with state, federal, and tribal regulations.
" Ensure proper handling, storage, transfer, and destruction of health service records in compliance with applicable regulations.
