Job Description

The Clinical Laboratory Assistant I is responsible for collecting blood specimens by venipuncture and capillary puncture, and for receiving clinical specimens in the laboratory computer system. Additional responsibilities include performing clerical tasks, processing send-out and pathology specimens, greeting and assisting outpatients, ordering and entering test orders into the computer system.

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma/GED High School diploma/General Equivalency Diploma (GED) - minimum
  • Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree - preferred

Experience

  • 1 year Acute care - preferred

Licenses and Certifications

  • Phlebotomy Certification CA - Upon Hire minimum Current Phlebotomy licensure in the State of California (required).
