Job Summary and Qualifications

Perform phlebotomy procedures to obtain specimens for laboratory testing. Transport process and perform clerical duties as necessary fortesting onpatient samples.

Reports to Lead Phlebotomist Lab Manager and Laboratory Director.

What You Will Do in This Role

You will greet patients and instruct them in proper specimen collection methods. You will draw blood specimens from patients by using finger sticks heelsticksor venipunctures and collect other specimens asrequired. You will label specimens for identification purposes accurately and enter specimen data into the computer. You will prepare samples for microbiology hematology serology blood bank and urinalysis departments You will assist with clerical duties by answering telephone calls.

Licensurecertificationregistration HR diploma or GED required Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience required or Certification through a clinical phlebotomy program may be considered in lieu of experience Acute care hospital experience is strongly preferred Skilled phlebotomy technique BLS within30 days of hire
