Job Title: Phlebotomist Floater – 1st Shift
Position Type: Contract (3+ Months)
Location: Chalfont, PA 18914
Shift: 1st Shift | 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist Floater to provide phlebotomy support across multiple patient service locations. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and delivering outstanding patient care while maintaining accuracy, safety, and professionalism.
The ideal candidate will have strong venipuncture skills, experience working with diverse patient populations, and the flexibility to travel between assigned locations as needed. This position also serves as a resource for team members by assisting with onboarding, mentoring, and supporting daily operations when required.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on Pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
Accurately label, process, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
Verify patient identity and ensure all documentation is complete and accurate.
Explain collection procedures and provide excellent patient care while maintaining patient comfort.
Follow established safety, infection control, HIPAA, and quality assurance guidelines.
Float between multiple patient service centers, physician offices, long-term care facilities, and other assigned locations.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Assist with training, onboarding, and mentoring new employees when needed.
Serve as a point of contact for on-site staff and communicate operational concerns to supervisors.
Collaborate with internal departments including laboratory operations, logistics, billing, IT, and client services as necessary.
Manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Medical Assistant, Paramedic, or related medical training preferred.
Phlebotomy certification preferred (required where applicable by state regulations).
Minimum 5 years of phlebotomy experience, including:
- Venipuncture
- Pediatric collections
- Geriatric collections
- Capillary collections
Minimum 3 years of experience in a Patient Service Center (PSC) or In-Office Phlebotomy (IOP) environment preferred.
Previous customer service experience in a healthcare or retail setting preferred.
Basic computer, keyboarding, and data entry skills.
