Job Title: Phlebotomist III – Float (1st Shift)
Job Location: Elizabeth, NJ, 07208
Job Duration: 3-Month Contract
Schedule: 1st Shift – 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (Monday–Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday)
Pay Rate: $21.79/hr. On W2
 
Position Overview
  • The Phlebotomist III – Float serves as the face of the organization, providing exceptional patient care while collecting high-quality blood specimens for laboratory testing. This role is responsible for traveling to and supporting multiple locations and work environments, including Patient Service Centers (PSC), physician offices, long-term care facilities, and mobile phlebotomy settings.
  • The ideal candidate will possess strong phlebotomy expertise, leadership abilities, and outstanding customer service skills. This position requires flexibility, the ability to work independently, and the capability to support and guide team members when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform venipuncture, capillary, pediatric, adult, and geriatric blood collections accurately and safely.
  • Prepare and process specimens according to established procedures and quality standards.
  • Travel between multiple locations to provide staffing coverage and operational support.
  • Ensure all daily activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and on time.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Create a positive patient experience by explaining procedures and addressing concerns professionally.
  • Serve as a mentor, coach, and resource for new employees and team members.
  • Support onboarding and training activities for new staff and clients.
  • Act as a point of contact for on-site personnel and provide feedback to supervisors and leadership.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Laboratory Services, IT, Billing, and Logistics to resolve issues and support customer needs.
  • Handle complex testing requirements and high-volume accounts while maintaining service excellence.
  • Perform administrative duties including data entry and documentation as required.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy Certification preferred (required only in certain states where applicable).
Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of phlebotomy experience, including:
    • Pediatric collections
    • Geriatric collections
    • Capillary collections
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a Patient Service Center (PSC) and/or In-Office Phlebotomy (IOP) environment preferred.
  • Previous customer service experience in a retail, healthcare, or service environment preferred.
  • Experience with keyboarding and data entry required.
