  • Tuesday – Friday: 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Saturday: 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and patient-focused Phlebotomist I to join our team in Eustis, FL. The Phlebotomist I (Patient Services Representative I) serves as the face of the organization, providing exceptional patient care while performing blood collection and specimen processing activities. This role requires strong phlebotomy skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, maintain patient confidentiality, and ensure accurate specimen collection and processing in compliance with established protocols and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect blood specimens from patients using proper venipuncture and capillary collection techniques.
  • Prepare, label, and process specimens accurately for laboratory testing.
  • Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection according to established procedures.
  • Ensure patient identification and specimen integrity at all times.
  • Explain collection procedures to patients and create a comfortable, professional environment.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and patient information.
  • Follow all safety, infection control, and quality assurance guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
  • Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive company image to patients, clients, and the public.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while meeting productivity and quality standards.
  • Support process improvement initiatives and demonstrate leadership behaviors.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 6 months of recent phlebotomy experience required.
  • Strong phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients.
  • Keyboarding and data entry skills required.
  • Ability to provide accurate, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the worksite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred (required only where mandated by state regulations).
  • One or more years of direct phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Previous customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service environment.

Additional Requirements

  • Candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the worksite (approximately 20–25 minutes preferred).
  • Home city and commute time to the worksite must be included on the resume.
  • Must be flexible to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call shifts as needed.
  • Current students must have schedules that do not conflict with assigned work hours.
  • Must maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Excessive absenteeism or tardiness may result in assignment termination.
