Phlebotomist - Patient-Focused Lab Specialist

We're looking for a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join a fast-paced clinical environment. In this role, you'll be on the front lines of patient care-ensuring accurate specimen collection while delivering a positive and professional patient experience.

What You'll Do

Specimen Collection & Patient Care

  • Perform venipuncture using straight needles and butterfly needles
  • Collect blood, urine, and other specimens following established procedures
  • Clearly explain collection procedures to patients in a professional and reassuring manner
  • Ensure patient comfort, safety, and confidentiality at all times

Specimen Handling & Processing

  • Label, centrifuge, split, and store specimens according to test requirements
  • Match laboratory requisition forms with specimen tubes for 100% accuracy
  • Prepare and package specimens for transport while maintaining integrity
  • Follow proper storage protocols, including temperature requirements

Lab Operations & Compliance

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Perform equipment maintenance and decontamination duties
  • Adhere to OSHA and DEP regulations
  • Participate in annual training and continuous education

Administrative & Support Tasks

  • Update and verify patient information in systems
  • Answer incoming calls and assist with lab-related inquiries
  • Communicate results or escalate issues as needed
  • Support workflow improvements and assist with training when required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Phlebotomy Certification (where required by state)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
