Job Description: Phlebotomist I (Patient Services Representative I) Location: Ocoee, FL Duration: 6+ Months (Possibility of Extension) Shift: Monday to Friday: 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM Every other Saturday: 6:30 AM – 1:30 PM (Eastern Time) Position Summary The Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the primary point of contact for patients and represents the company's commitment to quality healthcare services. This role involves collecting blood specimens, preparing them for laboratory testing, and delivering a safe, professional, and patient-focused experience. The PSR I plays a critical role in ensuring patient comfort, maintaining confidentiality, and providing accurate specimen collection while upholding the highest standards of quality and compliance. Key Responsibilities Perform daily phlebotomy activities accurately, safely, and within established timelines Collect blood specimens (venipuncture and capillary) from patients, including pediatric and geriatric populations Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing according to standard procedures Maintain proper documentation and records with high accuracy Ensure a safe, clean, and professional working environment Communicate clearly with patients, explaining procedures to build trust and confidence Adhere to company policies, regulatory requirements, and confidentiality standards Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection as required Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining quality standards Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, and colleagues Required Skills & Competencies Strong phlebotomy skills with a focus on accuracy and patient care Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills High attention to detail and commitment to error-free work Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and data integrity Strong organizational and time management abilities Basic computer skills with proficiency in data entry and keyboarding Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as needed Qualifications Education High School Diploma or equivalent (Required) Medical Assistant or Paramedic training (Preferred) Phlebotomy certification (Preferred; required in certain states such as CA, NV, WA) Experience Minimum 2 years of phlebotomy experience (Required) Experience with pediatric and geriatric patients Prior customer service experience in a retail or service environment (Preferred) Data entry/keyboard experience (Required) Additional Requirements Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong commitment to safety, quality, and compliance Flexible availability based on staffing needs
