Job Title: Phlebotomist I Location: Plantation, FL Duration: 3+ Months (Potential for Extension) Schedule:
Monday & Friday: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Saturday: 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Phlebotomist I to join our team in Plantation, FL. The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the organization, providing exceptional patient care while collecting high-quality blood specimens for laboratory testing. This role requires strong phlebotomy skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and specimen integrity.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in venipuncture, specimen collection, and patient interaction, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
Collect blood specimens from patients using established phlebotomy procedures.
Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing duties accurately and efficiently.
Prepare, label, process, and store specimens according to laboratory guidelines.
Ensure all specimens are collected, handled, and transported in compliance with company policies and safety standards.
Verify patient information and maintain accurate records and documentation.
Explain collection procedures to patients and establish a comfortable, professional environment.
Demonstrate excellent customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Complete daily activities accurately and within established timelines.
Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Adhere to all applicable safety, quality assurance, and compliance standards.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience.
Strong blood collection skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients.
Keyboard and data entry proficiency.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to perform accurately in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Medical Assistant, Paramedic, or other related medical training.
Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
1+ years of phlebotomy experience.
Previous customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service environment.
