Job Description: Phlebotomist I (Patient Services Representative I)

Job Title: Phlebotomist I
Location: Royal Palm Beach, FL
Duration: 6+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift Timings:

  • Monday to Friday: 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Saturday: 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Position Summary

The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the organization, providing exceptional patient care and support. This role involves collecting high-quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and ensuring a safe, professional, and positive patient experience.

The PSR I plays a critical role in patient interaction, building trust and confidence by explaining procedures clearly and performing phlebotomy with precision, safety, and accuracy.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection in a safe, accurate, and professional manner
  • Prepare and process specimens according to established procedures
  • Ensure patient comfort while maintaining a high standard of care
  • Verify patient information and maintain strict confidentiality
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection as required
  • Follow all safety, compliance, and quality standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment
  • Demonstrate strong organizational commitment and promote a positive image of the company
  • Communicate effectively with patients, team members, and supervisors
  • Complete daily activities accurately and within specified timelines under supervision

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Basic computer skills with keyboard/data entry proficiency

Job Requirements

  • Ability to deliver high-quality, error-free work
  • Flexible availability based on staffing needs, including:
    • Weekends
    • Holidays
    • Overtime and on-call shifts (as required)

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • Medical training (Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, or Paramedic) (Preferred)
  • Phlebotomy certification (Preferred)
    • (Required for CA, NV, and WA only)

Work Experience

  • Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience (Required)
  • 1+ year of phlebotomy experience (Preferred)
  • Customer service experience in a retail or healthcare environment (Preferred)
  • Data entry/keyboard experience (Required)
