Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Phlebotomist I to join our team in Sugar Land, TX. The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the organization, providing exceptional patient care while collecting high-quality blood specimens for laboratory testing. This role requires strong phlebotomy skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and safety.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in specimen collection, possess excellent customer service skills, and be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures accurately and efficiently.
Prepare collected specimens for laboratory testing in accordance with established protocols.
Ensure proper labeling, handling, and processing of specimens.
Create a positive patient experience by explaining procedures and addressing patient concerns professionally.
Collect both clinical and forensic specimens following established procedures and regulations.
Maintain accurate records, documentation, and patient information.
Adhere to safety, compliance, and confidentiality standards at all times.
Perform daily tasks accurately and within designated timeframes under the direction of the area supervisor.
Promote a professional and positive image of the organization to patients, clients, and the public.
Support process improvement initiatives and demonstrate leadership behaviors.
Required Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or GED required.
Medical Assistant, Paramedic, or other medical training preferred.
Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Experience
Minimum 6 months of recent phlebotomy experience required.
1+ year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
Experience with pediatric and geriatric blood draws preferred.
Customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service environment preferred.
Data entry and keyboarding skills required.
Required Skills

Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
