Job Title: Phlebotomist II – 1st Shift
Location: Alpena, MI
Duration: 3-Month Contract
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM (40 Hours/Week)
 
Job Summary:
  • The Phlebotomist II (Patient Services Representative II) serves as the face of the organization, providing exceptional patient care while collecting quality blood specimens for laboratory testing. This role requires strong phlebotomy skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform venipuncture, capillary, and specimen collection procedures following established protocols.
  • Accurately label, process, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
  • Verify patient identity, demographic information, and specimen labeling accuracy.
  • Maintain required records and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, confidentiality, and quality standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service while creating a positive patient experience.
  • Support both clinical and forensic specimen collection as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, professional, and organized work environment.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and dress code requirements.
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of phlebotomy experience.
  • Experience with pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Strong specimen processing and data entry skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Medical Assistant or Paramedic training.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred.
  • Previous experience in a Patient Service Center (PSC) environment.
  • Retail or service industry customer service experience.
Additional Requirements:
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
  • Flexibility to travel between locations as needed.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, or on-call shifts when required.
  • Strong commitment to patient confidentiality, safety, and quality standards.
