Job Title: Phlebotomist II
Job Location: Aiken, SC
Job Duration: 2 months (possible extension)  
Shift: Mon - Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm


Position Summary

The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the primary point of contact for patients and plays a key role in delivering a positive patient experience. This position is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and ensuring accurate patient identification and documentation. The PSR II demonstrates professionalism, compassion, and adherence to established procedures while maintaining patient confidentiality and safety.

Assignments may include work in a physician's office, patient service center, or other locations based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily activities accurately, efficiently, and on schedule under the direction of the area supervisor.
  • Collect and process clinical and forensic specimens following established procedures and protocols.
  • Draw blood specimens safely and accurately from pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Verify patient identity and demographic information before specimen collection.
  • Obtain patient acknowledgment/signature after venipuncture and ensure specimen labels are verified in the patient's presence.
  • Prepare specimens for laboratory testing and maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
  • Promote a positive image of the organization when interacting with patients, clients, employees, and the public.
  • Demonstrate strong customer service and communication skills while maintaining patient confidence and trust.
  • Support process excellence initiatives and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  • Travel to and support multiple collection sites as needed.
