Job Description:
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the primary point of contact for patients, providing excellent customer service while performing skilled blood collection and specimen preparation for laboratory testing. This role requires professionalism, accuracy, and compassion when interacting with patients in clinical and patient service environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect blood specimens using proper venipuncture and capillary techniques.
- Prepare and process specimens according to established procedures.
- Verify patient identification and ensure accurate specimen labeling.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and accurate documentation.
- Provide a safe, professional, and positive patient experience.
- Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection duties confidently and accurately.
- Follow company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
- Support multiple locations as needed and adapt to changing staffing requirements.
- Maintain organization and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
- 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Patient Service Center experience preferred.
- Strong customer service and data entry skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and flexibility to travel between locations if required.
