What You'll Do

  • Perform blood and specimen collection procedures accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with all laboratory, safety, and regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Verify patient identification and maintain specimen integrity throughout the collection process.
  • Assist with the orientation, training, and competency development of new team members.
  • Provide guidance on the use of laboratory equipment and software applications.
  • Support a positive patient experience through professional and compassionate interactions.
  • Collaborate with laboratory and clinical staff to ensure timely and accurate specimen processing.

This role combines technical expertise, patient-centered care, and mentorship to support the delivery of remarkable healthcare services.

What We're Looking For

  • Education: High School or GED, required.
  • Experience: One year of relevant phlebotomy experience, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: ASCP, ASPT, AMT or NHA (New hire and/or new phlebotomist must obtain certification within 6 months of hire), required.
  • Additional Skills (required): Knowledge of current medical terminology to perform full range of laboratory tasks. Knowledge of medical terminology to communicate with medical staff regarding laboratory procedures and results. Skill in anticipating and reacting calmly to emergency situations. Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, hospital staff and the public. Ability to follow written protocols. Ability to work independently. Ability to communicate clearly.
