Job Title: Phlebotomist II - Float Location: Kissimmee, FL Duration: 6+ Months (Possibility of Extension) Shift: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday | 5:30 AM – 2:30 PM
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist II - Float to join our team in Kissimmee, FL. The ideal candidate will serve as the face of the organization, providing exceptional patient care while performing high-quality specimen collection and processing. This role requires traveling between multiple locations as needed and maintaining a professional, patient-focused approach in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
Collect blood specimens through venipuncture, capillary, pediatric, and geriatric collection techniques.
Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing following established procedures and quality standards.
Verify patient identification and demographic information before specimen collection.
Obtain patient signatures and ensure specimen labels are accurately completed in the patient's presence.
Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing duties.
Maintain accurate records, documentation, and patient information while ensuring confidentiality.
Promote a safe, professional, and positive environment for patients, clients, and team members.
Demonstrate leadership behaviors and a commitment to process excellence and quality standards.
Communicate procedures clearly to patients and address concerns professionally.
Adhere to all company policies, safety guidelines, dress code requirements, and operational procedures.
Support multiple Patient Service Centers (PSC) and In-Office Phlebotomy (IOP) locations as business needs require.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
1-3 years of phlebotomy experience required, including:
Pediatric collections
Geriatric collections
Capillary collections
Strong venipuncture and specimen handling skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Proficiency in keyboarding and data entry.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.
Phlebotomy Certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
2+ years of experience in a Patient Service Center (PSC) environment preferred.
Customer service experience in a retail or service-based setting strongly preferred.
Additional Requirements
Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Willingness and ability to travel between multiple sites on short notice.
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call schedules as needed.
Ability to adapt to changing business needs and work locations.
Eligible for mileage reimbursement according to company policy for travel between sites.
