Job Title: Phlebotomist II - Float
Job Location: Ocala, FL
Job Duration: 4 Months (Possibilities of Extension)
 
Shift: Monday-Friday 8 hour or 10 hour shift between 5:00AM - 5:00PM, Rotational Saturdays.
 
Job Description:
  • The Patient Services Representative III-Floater (PSR III) represents the face of the company to patients who come in, both as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions.
  • Draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures.
  • Creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and performing blood draws in a safe, skillful, and accurate manner.
  • Demonstrates Leadership Behaviors while focusing on process excellence and maintaining confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
  • May be assigned to a doctor’s office, patient service center, or other locations as business needs dictate.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Under the direction of the area supervisor, perform daily activities accurately and on time.
  • Maintain a safe and professional environment.
  • Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established procedures.
  • Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient initials/signature post-venipuncture to confirm specimen labeling accuracy.
  • Maintain required records and documentation.
  • Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the general public.
  • Support organizational commitment and professionalism at all times.
 
Job Requirements:
  • Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Flexible availability based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call schedules.

  • Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise sound judgment.
  • Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record, if applicable.

  • Strong customer service and communication skills with peers, supervisors, and patients.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to change and demonstrate business knowledge.
 
Required Skills & Experience:
  • 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • 2 years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience required.
Required Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent – REQUIRED.
 Preferred Education:
  • Medical training such as Medical Assistant or Paramedic training is preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
