Job Title: Phlebotomist II – Float Location: Saint Cloud, FL Duration: 6+ Months (Possibility of Extension) Shift: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday | 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Wednesday Off)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist II – Float to join our team in Saint Cloud, FL. The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the organization, providing exceptional patient care while performing high-quality specimen collection and processing. This role requires strong phlebotomy expertise, excellent customer service skills, and the flexibility to travel between multiple patient service locations as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Collect blood specimens from patients using venipuncture, capillary, and other approved collection techniques.
Ensure specimens are accurately labeled and prepared for laboratory testing according to established procedures.
Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient signatures post-collection to confirm specimen labeling accuracy.
Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties with confidence and precision.
Maintain accurate records, documentation, and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Create a professional, safe, and welcoming environment for patients and staff.
Demonstrate leadership behaviors and maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding patient information.
Follow all organizational policies, procedures, and quality assurance standards.
Promote a positive company image through exceptional patient and client interactions.
Perform daily duties accurately and within established timelines under the supervision of the Area Supervisor.
Qualifications & Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Medical Assistant, Paramedic, or related medical training preferred.
Phlebotomy Certification preferred (required in certain states as applicable).
1-3 years of phlebotomy experience required, including:
Pediatric collections
Geriatric collections
Capillary collections
Patient Service Center (PSC) experience preferred.
Strong customer service experience in healthcare, retail, or service environments preferred.
Keyboarding and data entry skills required.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Float Requirements
Must be willing and able to travel between multiple work sites as assigned.
Must have reliable transportation.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
Ability to report to different locations with minimal notice.
Eligible for mileage reimbursement when traveling between assigned sites.
