Job Title: Phlebotomist II
Job Location: Hamilton, GA
Job Duration: 3 months (possible extension)  
Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM


Pay rate: $20.86 - 22.35/hr. on W2

Position Summary

The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the primary point of contact for patients, providing professional and compassionate care during specimen collection and processing. This role is responsible for performing venipuncture and specimen preparation for laboratory testing while following established procedures, safety standards, and confidentiality requirements.

The PSR II creates a positive patient experience by explaining procedures clearly and performing blood draws accurately and safely. Assignments may include work in physician offices, patient service centers, or other locations based on business needs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily activities accurately and efficiently under the supervision of the area supervisor.
  • Collect and process clinical and forensic specimens according to established procedures.
  • Perform venipuncture, capillary, pediatric, and geriatric collections with accuracy and professionalism.
  • Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient initials/signatures after collection to confirm proper specimen labeling.
  • Maintain required records and documentation accurately.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational commitment and maintain a positive image with patients, clients, coworkers, and the public.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety standards, dress code, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Adapt to changing staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call schedules.
  • Travel between multiple locations as needed with minimal notice.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred.
    • Certification required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Required Experience

  • 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience required, including:
    • Pediatric collections
    • Geriatric collections
    • Capillary collections
  • 2 years of Patient Service Center experience preferred.
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment highly preferred.
  • Keyboard and data entry experience required.

Required Skills

  • Strong phlebotomy and specimen handling skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and follow established procedures.
  • Flexible schedule and willingness to travel between locations.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license, if applicable.
