Job Description:
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the primary point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive patient experience. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and following established procedures for both clinical and forensic specimen collection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily phlebotomy and specimen processing activities accurately and on schedule under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Collect blood specimens using proper venipuncture techniques, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Verify patient demographics and ensure specimen labels are accurate and confirmed in the patient’s presence.
- Maintain accurate records and required documentation.
- Follow all safety, confidentiality, and compliance procedures.
- Support a professional and welcoming environment for patients, clients, and staff.
- Demonstrate flexibility to work across multiple locations and adjust schedules based on staffing needs.
- Uphold company policies, dress code, and employee health and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
- 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Patient Service Center experience preferred.
- Strong customer service and data entry skills required.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required, if applicable.
