Job Title: Phlebotomist II
Position Type: 5+ Month Contract
Location: Suwanee, GA 30024
Shift: Monday – Thursday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM Friday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM | Hours per Week: 37.00
 
Job Summary:

  • The Patient Services Representative II (Phlebotomist II) serves as the face of the organization by providing exceptional patient care during specimen collection. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens, processing samples for laboratory testing, and ensuring compliance with established procedures while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety, confidentiality, and customer service.
  • The ideal candidate is an experienced phlebotomist with strong venipuncture skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience working with pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections accurately and safely.
  • Collect, label, process, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established procedures.
  • Verify patient identity and demographic information before specimen collection.
  • Obtain patient initials/signatures after venipuncture to confirm specimen labeling accuracy.
  • Maintain specimen integrity and ensure proper documentation.
  • Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing as required.
  • Maintain accurate records and required documentation.
  • Provide outstanding customer service while creating a professional and comfortable environment for patients.
  • Adhere to all safety, infection control, HIPAA, and company policies and procedures.
  • Work independently while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
  • Travel between Patient Service Centers (PSC) and physician office locations as needed.
  • Promote a positive image of the organization through professionalism and teamwork.
 
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Required).
  • Medical Assistant, EMT/Paramedic, or other medical training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy Certification preferred (Required only in California, Nevada, and Washington).
 
Required Experience:
  • 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience.
  • Experience with Pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Patient Service Center (PSC) experience preferred.
  • Customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service environment preferred.
  • Basic computer, keyboarding, and data entry skills.
