Job Title: Phlebotomist III – Floater
Location: Lawrenceville, GA 30046
Job Type: Contract (3 Months)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM (8-hour shifts) with rotational Saturdays
Job Summary:
  • We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist III – Floater to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens, processing samples for laboratory testing, and providing exceptional patient care. This position requires flexibility to travel between multiple patient service centers and physician offices as needed.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong phlebotomy skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, professionalism, and patient confidentiality.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform venipuncture, capillary, Pediatric, and geriatric blood collections accurately and safely.
  • Collect, label, process, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing according to established procedures.
  • Verify patient identity, demographic information, and specimen labelling accuracy.
  • Obtain required patient initials/signatures after specimen collection when applicable.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and required records.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, infection control standards, and quality assurance procedures.
  • Provide outstanding patient care while explaining collection procedures clearly and professionally.
  • Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collections when required.
  • Travel between multiple Patient Service Centers (PSC) and physician office locations based on business needs.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Support daily operations while meeting productivity and quality expectations.
 
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Required).
  • Medical Assistant, Paramedic, or other medical training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred (required only where mandated by state regulations).
  • Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience.
  • Experience with Pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Strong specimen processing and labelling experience.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Basic computer, keyboard, and data entry skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a high-volume environment.
  • Reliable transportation with the ability to travel between multiple work locations.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record, if applicable.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Patient Service Center (PSC) environment.
  • Previous customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service setting.
 
Work Environment:
  • Fast-paced outpatient laboratory and patient service center environment.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting as required.
  • Flexibility to work at multiple locations with minimal notice.
  • Occasional overtime, weekends, holidays, and on-call coverage may be required based on business needs.
