Job Description

Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist to support our client's medical facility in South Burlington, VT, US, 05403. This is a 3-month contract with the possibility of a contract opportunity that could convert into a full-time role, and it's a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Title: Phlebotomist II

Location: South Burlington, VT, US, 05403

Pay Rate: $20 - $25/hr. on W2.

Shift: Monday - Friday 6:00 am -6:00 pm

  • Pay Rate is based on experience and educational qualifications.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture to collect blood specimens from patients of all ages.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety during the collection process.
  • Accurately label specimens and complete requisition forms.
  • Adhere to standardized procedures for waived testing, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of results
  • Properly handle and store specimens to maintain sample integrity.
  • Follow protocols for specimen transport and disposal
  • Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Apply electrodes and monitor patients during the procedure to ensure quality tracings.
  • Prepare and verify manifests for specimens being sent to external laboratories or for transportation purposes.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills to include pediatric and geriatric.
  • Flexible and available based on staffing needs, which includes weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime
  • HM is looking for candidates close to the S. Burlington, address, At times they will be required to travel to S. Albans and Enosburgh, VT locations as well as travel as far as Brattleboro and Westminster locations. with Brattleboro and Westminster being so far away, HM said they may have to cover a couple times a month. the will be paid drive time for S. Burlington location and the shift will only be a half day

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Three years of phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.
  • Minimum 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred. Keyboard/data entry experience.Additional
  • Candidate will have to float from the quest-based location to a certain location the client wants.
