Phlebotomist – Kernodle Clinic

We are seeking a patient-centered and detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our Mebane team. Previous phlebotomy experience is required and EPIC experience is a plus.
 
Position Details:
Full-Time: 40 hours/week
 
Schedule Options:
Monday–Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm
 
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited phlebotomy program (NHA, ASCP, NPA, AMT)
Current National Phlebotomy Certification required
One year of phlebotomy experience (outpatient clinic experience preferred)
AHA BLS certification required
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide professional, courteous communication with patients, families, and clinical staff.
  • Address patient questions or concerns regarding specimen collection while minimizing fear and anxiety.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in phlebotomy and specimen collection techniques, including throat/nasal swabs, appropriate to patient age.
  • Instruct patients on proper collection for urine, stool, and sputum specimens, including any special testing instructions.
  • Respond promptly to STAT draws and perform point-of-care testing as needed.
  • Follow all laboratory procedures for patient identification and specimen labeling, using double identifiers for accuracy.
  • Maintain working knowledge of laboratory computer systems, including report retrieval and specimen inquiries.
