Phlebotomist

WCS Healthcare Partners is currently seeking an experienced Phlebotomist to join a busy, multi-specialty outpatient medical practice in New Jersey. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled healthcare professional who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and is committed to providing exceptional patient care.

The ideal candidate will have strong venipuncture experience, the ability to work efficiently in a high-volume setting, and experience performing EKGs and assisting with Holter monitor procedures.

 

Schedule

• Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM
• Flexibility required as schedule may vary based on operational needs
• Overtime available as needed
• Occasional Saturdays, 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM

 

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and blood specimen collection using proper techniques and procedures.
• Review physician orders to ensure all required laboratory tests are collected accurately.
• Perform Electrocardiograms (EKGs).
• Set up, educate patients on, and remove Holter monitors.
• Maintain a professional, courteous, and patient-focused approach when interacting with patients and staff.
• Follow all departmental policies related to infection control, universal precautions, and hazardous waste handling.
• Ensure timely delivery of STAT specimens to the laboratory.
• Assist with laboratory functions including urinalysis, sed rates, screenings, and send-out testing.
• Schedule laboratory appointments and verify patient demographic information.
• Maintain accurate documentation and support efficient clinical operations.
• Adhere to attendance and punctuality expectations.

 

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Phlebotomist in a high-volume healthcare setting required.
• Experience performing EKGs and working with Holter monitors preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret physician orders accurately.
• Excellent customer service and patient interaction skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to distinguish colors for proper specimen tube selection.
• Ability to bend and assist patients during blood collection procedures.
• Ability to move throughout the facility and transport specimens as needed.
