Phlebotomist
Location: Orleans, MA 02653
Duration: Contract Assignment
Collect blood specimens using venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.
Obtain throat culture swabs and provide instructions for home specimen collections.
Process laboratory specimens according to testing requirements and laboratory guidelines.
Register patient demographic information accurately into the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
Enter physician laboratory orders accurately and efficiently.
Communicate professionally with patients, physicians, and healthcare staff.
Resolve specimen-related issues and escalate concerns when appropriate.
Travel between multiple laboratory collection sites as needed.
Perform occasional home, nursing home, and physician office blood draws.
Maintain inventory supplies and ensure phlebotomy areas remain clean, organized, and fully stocked.
Adhere to HIPAA, Medicare, laboratory policies, and regulatory compliance standards.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Valid U.S. Driver’s License.
Successful completion of a phlebotomy training program or relevant phlebotomy work experience.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Successful completion of Medical Terminology Exam.
Acceptable driving record in accordance with company requirements.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
Experience working in laboratory or healthcare settings preferred.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer applications.
Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
