This position REQUIRES a current State or National Phlebotomy certification/license We are seeking a highly organized, efficient, and multi-functional Phlebotomist with excellent communication skills.The ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment is required. Job Responsibilities: Phlebotomists are responsible for collecting blood specimens and interacting with patients fromall age groups,with a broad rangeindegree of difficulty.Working jointly with all departments in the hospital and laboratory,phlebotomists are responsible for providing efficient and timely collections for patients in order to provide excellent care. Specific Job Duties: -Primarily responsible for the collection of bloodspecimens for the clinical laboratory. - Computer test order entry in our outpatientsettings, specimen collection data entryandassistingcaregivers with patient reports. - Preparing a laboratory for inspection byregulatory agencies. - Monitoring, maintaining, ordering and stockinglaboratory supplies. - Providing customer service to answer questions from patientproviders regarding patient resultsor samplecollection techniques or questions. Laboratory Training/Continuing Education: All employees are required to attend hospital orientation on the initial start date and then will proceed to the laboratoryto undergo an extensive training programwhich covers all areas of the phlebotomy position. We provide a one-on-one approach to this process which typically is completed within the first1 to 2months of hire. Annual continuing education is provided by WillisKnighton in an effort to maintaincompetency in phlebotomy skills, safety and general laboratory areas. This alsoprovides employeesCEUs to maintain certification requirements. Job Qualifications: -Highschool diploma or equivalent -Completion of a phlebotomy-training program orequivalent experience. -Must possess a current State or National Phlebotomy certification/license -Computer experience and some knowledge ofmedical terminology is preferred. Position Specific Information: 1:00PM-9:30PM with a rotation in the weekend and holiday schedules. Phlebotomist will also participate in the weekend on-call rotation.
