Pay Package
Local Candidates
Local Rate: $34.50/hour
Travel Candidates
Travel Rate: $42.00/hour
Weekly Gross: $1,680/week
Taxable W-2 Rate: $15.00/hour
Non-Taxable Stipend: $27.00/hour
Weekly Non-Taxable Stipend: $1,080/week
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Phlebotomist / Phlebotomy Technician for a 13-week night-shift assignment in the Laboratory. The Phlebotomist will collect and process blood specimens from patients of all age groups and ensure accurate specimen identification, labeling, accessioning, and documentation.
Responsibilities
Collect blood specimens from newborns, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
Perform venipuncture and blood collection safely and accurately.
Pediatric blood-draw experience is required.
Respond to STAT requests and prioritize specimens appropriately.
Correctly identify patients and enter test requests into the laboratory computer system.
Label and process specimens according to laboratory protocols.
Perform accessioning and specimen-processing duties.
Transport specimens between departments as needed.
Assist with specimen processing and cover understaffed areas.
Travel to nursing homes, patient homes requiring home care, and satellite facilities for blood collection as needed.
Assist with glucose tolerance tests, answer phones, and perform other laboratory support duties.
Maintain accurate documentation and required logs.
Follow hospital, laboratory, safety, regulatory, and infection-control procedures.
Protect patient privacy, dignity, and rights.
Promote service excellence and participate in quality improvement and safety activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Phlebotomy certification required.
Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience required.
Pediatric blood-draw experience required.
Meditech and/or Mobilab experience required.
Strong venipuncture and specimen-collection skills across all age groups.
Travel experience required for travel candidates.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
