Position Summary
Transform your clinical expertise into an inspiring career in education! Pima Medical Institute is seeking a dedicated Phlebotomy Technician Instructor to join our evening faculty team at our Phoenix campus.
In this role, you will lead adult learners through hands-on lab instruction, practical demonstrations, and engaging classroom lectures. If you are an experienced phlebotomy professional who enjoys mentoring, sharing real-world insights, and preparing students for field success, this part-time evening role offers an ideal way to give back to the healthcare community.
Key Responsibilities
Instructional Delivery & Classroom Management:
Lesson Delivery: Design and deliver engaging lesson plans utilizing diverse teaching techniques to accommodate various learning styles.
Hands-On Demonstration: Instruct students in clinical lab settings, demonstrating proper venipuncture, capillary puncture, specimen handling, and safety protocols.
Evaluation & Feedback: Evaluate and grade student coursework, laboratory competencies, and assignments within 72 hours.
Student Mentorship & Retention:
Advising & Office Hours: Maintain regular face-to-face office hours to support, advise, and mentor students through academic challenges.
Progress & Behavioral Tracking: Document student academic progress and address behavioral concerns promptly, notifying campus leadership within 24 hours of any incident.
Interdepartmental Collaboration: Partner with Admissions and Career Services on student success, externship placements, guest speakers, and clinical site visits.
Administrative & Campus Life:
Recordkeeping: Complete and maintain accurate student files, daily attendance logs, incident reports, and early alerts.
Professional Growth & Events: Participate in faculty meetings, Advisory Board meetings, in-service workshops, and campus graduation ceremonies.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
Graduation from an accredited Phlebotomy Technician program recognized by USDE or CHEA; OR
Minimum of four (4) years of job-related training and experience in phlebotomy for non-graduates.
Field Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of practical experience as a Phlebotomist or in a closely related healthcare field.
Licensure & Credentials: Active license, certification, or designation in phlebotomy as required by local, state, or federal laws.
Technical & Soft Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills; basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace.
Compensation & Part-Time Benefits
Hiring Range: $20.80 to $24.96 per hour.
Schedule: Part-Time Evening Schedule (20 hours per week).
