Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but is not limited to):
- Prepare patients for blood draws, explain procedures, and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the process
- Responsible for correct blood collection, drawing blood from patients using venipuncture, capillary puncture, or other techniques; ensuring proper identification and labeling of specimens
- Organize, handle, and transport specimens to the laboratory for testing, ensuring all specimens are properly processed and stored
- Adhere to quality control and safety protocols to maintain the integrity of specimens and ensure accurate test results
- Maintain and calibrate phlebotomy equipment and supplies, ensure everything is in working order, and properly sanitized
- Perform more complex or specialized phlebotomy procedures as required, often with minimal supervision
Qualifications:

- High School Diploma or equivalent
- BLS certification within 45 days of hire and maintain current certification
Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:
- Minimum of two (2) years of clinical laboratory experience
