Our team is seeking a dedicated Fiscal Monitor to ensure fiscal compliance and assist with financial management within Arizona's Department of Economic Security (AZDES). Based in the bustling city of Phoenix, you'll enjoy a dynamic work environment with both remote and in-office opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Financial Manager with DERS sub-recipient fiscal monitors.
Ensure fiscal compliance with grant-specific requirements, uniform guidance, and federal regulations.
Provide technical assistance to sub-recipients, internal staff, and stakeholders.
Assist with the annual allocation of funds and during Federal and State audits.
Participate in developing a standardized risk assessment tool and evaluate subrecipient risk.
Review budgets and prepare financial analysis reports.
Travel within Arizona to conduct fiscal monitors and support grant subrecipients.
Requirements:
1-2 years of experience in financial, budget, accounting, or audit work.
Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Access).
High school diploma or GED.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to interpret federal and state regulations.
Strong analytical skills and time management abilities.
Preferences:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, statistics, economics, or business administration.
Master's degree in business or public administration.
