Reading Hospital Rehabilitation at Wyomissing is seeking a physiatristto join its dynamic, interdisciplinary rehabilitation team; a very collaborative department of 11 physiatrists with a four-year PM&R Residency Program. Duties will include primarily outpatient work, with some inpatient responsibilities, spasticity management, muscular skeletal ultrasound, electromyography, joint and trigger point injections.
This position is ideal for physiatrists with an academic or teaching background; OMT manipulation a plus. On call requirement is around 1:10 weeks for weekend coverage. Significant growth potential for selected candidate. Must be BC/BE in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Our Rehabilitation Hospital is opened in 2009, our state-of-the-art facility features: 174,000-square-foot, three-story building and includes a 61-bed Acute Rehabilitation Center, including an 11-bed secured Brain Injury Unit; a 50-bed Subacute rehabilitation unit; Aquatic therapy pool: outdoor therapy garden with putting green; on-site pharmacy, and radiological services. Our onsite outpatient PM&R office has an AANEM certified EMG lab doing over 2000 EMGs per year. Also onsite is one of our seven outpatient therapy clinics, with PT, OT and Speech. We offer highly specialized in and outpatient programs including amputee, brain injury, neuromuscular, orthopedic, spinal cord injury, Parkinson’s and stroke rehabilitation. Reading Hospital Rehabilitation at Wyomissing is the only hospital in the region accredited by both the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and The Joint Commission. Our Stroke Specialty, Brain Injury, Spinal Cord injury and Amputee Programs are also CARF-accredited.
