Hope Partnership for Education is an independent middle school and education center that provides a high quality, values-based education that supports and challenges students from adolescence to adulthood. Serving the Hartranft/Fairhill section of North Philadelphia, Hope was founded and endorsed by the Society of the Holy Child Jesus and the Sisters of Mercy in June, 2002.

Position Purpose: Physical health and education instruction to 5th - 8th graders. Inspire and instruct students to stay fit, challenge them to meet goals and to begin a lifelong commitment to health and good fitness habits.
Essential Functions:
- Plan and teach physical education classes at multiple grade levels
- Follow classroom routines and procedures to maintain appropriate atmosphere for learning
- Adherence to school regulations related to attendance, punctuality, maintaining accurate records, communicating with families
- Participate in school events, professional growth and development opportunities
- Monitor students in lunchroom, gym, and hallways during individual duty periods
- Encourage students to adopt healthy eating habits in accordance with school nutrition policies
- Teach and model conflict resolution skills
- Maintain the equipment and facilities
Skill:
- Possess some athletic skill in order to demonstrate activity
- Be a vocal and outgoing person who is good at motivating middle school students
Qualifications:
- College degree in the appropriate field
- Strong organizational and management skills
- Record of good attendance
- Ability to be flexible in an ever-changing environment
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Generally works in standard inner city school condition and climate
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, walk, see, hear, while being actively involved with the students in class
- Ability to lift 30 lbs
