N E W C A S T L E C O U N T Y V O C A T I O N A L-T E C H N I C A L S C H O O L D I S T R I C T JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION: Substitute Teacher - Physical Education QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of a high school diploma or GED Valid Delaware Teaching Certificate preferred. Negative Tuberculosis Test Clear Background Check LOCATION: Hodgson High School REPORTS TO: Assistant Principal in charge of content area SPECIFIC DUTIES:

1. Provide instruction to students, grades 9-12, in the assigned content area following the provided curriculum and tools.
2. Establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
3. Work with content or grade-level colleagues to ensure curricular coherency.
4. Be accountable for evaluation of student progress.
5. Support students with special needs by following provisions specified in their IEPs/504 Plans.
6. Develop, update, and maintain individualized instructional programs for students.
7. Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and other necessary records.
8. Report any student injuries, illness, and serious discipline problems to school administration.
9. Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or designee. SALARY: The per diem pay scale for substitute teachers is as follows for the first 10 days: Class A Substitute - $210.00 - Bachelor's Degree & Delaware Teacher Certification Class B Substitute - $180.00 - Bachelor's Degree Class C Substitute - $147.00 - High School Diploma On the 11th day, Class A, Class B will be paid $287.00. Class C will be paid $279.00.
