Physical education is a core part of our educational philosophy. We believe movement, health, and physical confidence are essential to students’ long-term wellbeing and success.

The role

We are seeking a Physical Education (P.E.) Teacher who is passionate about helping children develop a positive, lifelong relationship with physical activity.

The P.E. Teacher is responsible for delivering a structured, engaging, and inclusive physical education program that builds:

  • healthy habits and self-regulation, and

  • enjoyment of movement and active play.

What this looks like in practice

The P.E. Teacher will:

  • Design and deliver age-appropriate P.E. lessons that develop fundamental movement skills, coordination, fitness, and game understanding

  • Foster positive attitudes toward physical activity, teamwork, and fair play

  • Create a safe, inclusive, and well-managed environment for all students

  • Assess and monitor student progress and provide constructive, age-appropriate feedback

  • Support school sports events, intramurals, and physical activity initiatives

  • Contribute to outdoor education and extracurricular programs, where appropriate

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to align physical education with the school’s broader educational goals

Who you are

You are someone who:

  • Enjoys working with children and understands their physical, social, and emotional development

  • Brings structure, energy, and clarity to physical education lessons

  • Values inclusion and adapts activities to meet diverse needs and abilities

  • Communicates clearly with students, colleagues, and families

  • Is reliable, organised, and confident managing groups in active settings

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field

  • Teaching certification (or equivalent experience in a school setting)

  • At least 2 years’ experience teaching physical education or leading structured youth physical activity programs

  • Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to the start date)

Preferred

  • Experience in a progressive or independent school environment

  • Experience supporting outdoor education or school sports programs

What we offer

  • Competitive salary of $60,000–$70,000, based on experience and qualifications

  • A collaborative, supportive staff team

  • Opportunities for professional growth within a growing school

  • The chance to play a meaningful role in a school that values physical health as part of whole-child education

How to apply

Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your experience and interest in the role.
