The role
We are seeking a Physical Education (P.E.) Teacher who is passionate about helping children develop a positive, lifelong relationship with physical activity.
The P.E. Teacher is responsible for delivering a structured, engaging, and inclusive physical education program that builds:
physical competence and confidence,
teamwork and sportsmanship,
healthy habits and self-regulation, and
enjoyment of movement and active play.
What this looks like in practice
The P.E. Teacher will:
Design and deliver age-appropriate P.E. lessons that develop fundamental movement skills, coordination, fitness, and game understanding
Foster positive attitudes toward physical activity, teamwork, and fair play
Create a safe, inclusive, and well-managed environment for all students
Assess and monitor student progress and provide constructive, age-appropriate feedback
Support school sports events, intramurals, and physical activity initiatives
Contribute to outdoor education and extracurricular programs, where appropriate
Collaborate with classroom teachers to align physical education with the school’s broader educational goals

Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field
Teaching certification (or equivalent experience in a school setting)
At least 2 years’ experience teaching physical education or leading structured youth physical activity programs
Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to the start date)
Preferred
Experience in a progressive or independent school environment
Experience supporting outdoor education or school sports programs
