COMPENSATION: Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement located on the DY website.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Design and deliver standards-based physical education lessons aligned with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.
• Promote motor skill development, physical fitness, coordination, teamwork, and self-confidence through active learning.
• Maintain a safe and engaging environment for all students.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners, including students with IEPs or 504 plans.
• Use various assessment tools to monitor student progress and inform instruction.
• Foster inclusive practices that promote respect, sportsmanship, and cooperation.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to support holistic child development.
• Organize and participate in school-wide wellness events such as field day.
• Maintain PE equipment and ensure proper care and usage by students.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and district initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or related field
• Valid Massachusetts teaching license in Physical Education (PreK8 or all levels)
• Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required

Preferred:

• Experience teaching elementary grades
