JOB DESCRIPTION: The physical education teacher provides a safe, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate physical education program that promotes physical fitness, motor skills, teamwork, sportspersonship, and lifelong healthy habits for students. Plans, delivers, and assesses learning experiences that develop all students' physical literacy and health literacy skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops and implements a standards-aligned physical education program that meets ALSDE state/district learning objectives and is appropriate for grade levels served.
Create and enforce classroom and equipment safety procedures; supervise
students in gym, outdoors, locker rooms, and during transitions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university A valid Alabama Teacher's Certificate Must meet Every Student Succeed Act (ESSA) federal and state requirements or a willingness to meet the requirements within the designated timeframe
