General Summary:
Responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the physical inventory program. Identifies gaps in processes and develops inventory related processes, documentation and training. Responsible for day-to-day management of third-party inventory service vendor and the Physical Inventory Services team.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Manages the store inventory count process. Assists Sr. Manager in developing strategic physical inventory vision – process, communication to field and vendors, training (field), ensuring that inventories occur, and how to measure vendor performance.
Analyzes data and evaluates current physical inventory processes and procedures to identify opportunities such as vendor performance concerns, region or district concerns, and communication results. Recommends changes to Sr. Manager. May present and solicit support from others for changes (ex.: store operations).
Manages physical inventory team to include hiring, coaching and development, and performance. Manages third party inventory service vendor.
Provides financial expertise and support in the design, testing and completion of information systems to ensure successful implementation and desired results. Identifies and advocates for projects that will provide an appropriate return on investment, reduce financial and operational risks, and/or improve departmental capabilities.
Designs and maintains district manager physical inventory training program which can include virtual training, classroom or in store sessions. Tracks field improvements based on training provided.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
Intermediate or higher level ability to utilize Microsoft Office word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and database skills.
Ability to communicate (written and verbal) in common language to facilitate transfer of knowledge as well as proficiency presenting information to large groups.
Basic understanding of accounting terms and concepts including journal entries, reconciliations, and controls.
Ability to independently analyze large amounts of data and summarize into a meaningful format including statistical modeling and trend and exception analysis.
Ability to work with others on a common goal while also ensuring that projects meet financial requirements; ability to work in a dynamic and team-oriented environment.
Ability to step into the details when necessary and assist in resolving issues.
Ability to effectively manage multiple time-sensitive projects to desired results.
Basic understanding of retail operations, physical inventory processes and inventory controls.
Qualifications:
Work Experience &/or Education:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or general business required.
Five+ years of experience with physical inventory and/or data analysis.
Retail, inventory accounting, loss prevention experience preferred.
Leadership or supervisory experience required.
Knowledge of 1010data preferred.
