Physical Lab Tech

The Physical Lab Technician will develop the necessary knowledge and skillset to run the Roll Mill lab. The Physical Lab Technician is responsible for ensuring the products being produced conform to all applicable requirements, including but not limited to dimensional, surface, and mechanical property requirements.  The Physical Lab Technician will also be responsible for helping production maintain proper bar requirements by gathering and measuring samples throughout the shift, including assisting Shipping in sample collection, as necessary. The Physical Lab Technician will be familiar and assist either Roll Mill lab, as needed.  The successful candidate will be expected to have basic Microsoft and in-house software familiarity, as well as take personal responsibility for the accurate entry of all data relevant to testing software and mill product check records. Must be able to safely lift, carry, push, and/or pull materials weighing 50 pounds or more on a regular basis.

Minimum Qualifications:

•2 years previous experience with quality inspection

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6 months previous experience in a steelmaking/heavy industrial environment
